The Veteran Day parade is not a true American tradition but more like an international manifestation in order to celebrate the Armistice ov the First World War. American go walking down the streets on this day to pay homage to those who fought in Europe. It was signed on the 11th of November and takes place on that very same day each year in NYC. It begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m. It starts on The Veterans Day Parade begins on Fifth Avenue at 23rd Street, and goes north along Fifth Avenue to 59th Street.
This event has been organised in the city of New York since 1929 and brings together over 20 000 people each year. This event of commemoration always starts with a wreath laying ceremony at 10a.m at the Eternal Flame in Madison Square Park, and then, the parade can start at 11a.m.
