Buses are also a good alternative to move around NYC. These also belong to MTA and are marked MTA New York City Bus. It is nicer as you can see the city as you are getting from one point to another but beware of rush hours and traffic jam when choosing this way of transportation.
They go back and forth around NYC’s five boroughs thanks to the 4 300 and 219 routes. The first letter of the bus determinates the borough is goes to. Those who go to Bronx are marked Bx, those who go to Brooklyn are named B, Q stands for Queens, M is for Manhattan and S means Staten Island.
The fares are the same as the subways’ and the MetroCard is also used for buses.
